The department is internationally recognized for the management of complex intracranial tumoral and vascular neurosurgical pathologies, as well as spinal pathologies.
The department welcomes neurosurgical emergencies from Paris and the Ile-de-France region 24 hours a day.
The service includes :
- A consultation room on the first floor, yellow sector, door 11
- 42 hospital beds including 12 post-operative intensive care beds, spread over 3 levels, yellow sector door 10
- 3 dedicated neurosurgery operating rooms and 1 dedicated emergency room
The neurosurgery operating theater is equipped with state-of-the-art technology: operating microscope, HD endoscopy, neuronavigation, cortical stimulation, intra-operative monitoring…
Since September 2019, the operating theatre has been equipped with a state-of-the-art intra-operative scanner .

You will be greeted by a hospital assistant who will ensure that the formalities required for your hospitalization are up to date. You will be given all the information you need for your admission and the organization of your hospital stay. You will give him the documents relating to your admission.

– Care consent form
She will then direct you to your room, where you will be looked after by the unit nurse.

- The department participates in the Paris neurosurgery on-call service, along with 6 other Parisian neurosurgery departments. The department is on call for 24 hours every 5 to 6 days, and handles all neurosurgical emergencies in the Ile-de-France region. A team comprising 2 neurosurgeons, 1 interventional neuroradiologist, 2 neurosurgery interns, 2 externs, 2 anesthetists, 1 senior resuscitator, 1 intensive care intern, 2 nurses, 1 nursing auxiliary, 2 operating room nurses, 1 nurse anesthetist is on hand to deal with emergencies.
In accordance with ARS specifications, the department is equipped to deal with interventional neurosurgical and neuroradiological emergencies:
- Hospitalization capacity in units with expertise in the resuscitation of neurologically injured patients,
- A technical imaging platform with at least one scanner and one MRI available 24 hours a day,
- Priority access for NCH / NRI / NREA emergencies to imaging examinations with senior interpretation of examinations,
- An interventional neuroradiology department,
- Access to senior tele-expertise,
- A dedicated operating room on the day of and the day after the on-call shift.
The Neurosurgery, Interventional Neuroradiology and Surgical Intensive Care Departments are also on call to deal with neurovascular emergencies on the day when the Neurosurgery Department at Beaujon Hospital, which has no Interventional Neuroradiology Department, is on call.

The department handles local emergencies every day from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 9.00pm.
In accordance with ARS (Agence Régionale de Santé) specifications, the department is equipped to handle neurosurgical and interventional neuroradiology emergencies:
- Sufficient hospitalization capacity with expertise in resuscitation of neurologically injured patients
- Imaging facilities including two CT scanners and two MRI scanners.
- On-site interventional neuroradiology department
- Priority access to imaging for NCH / NRI / NREA emergencies
- Priority access to imaging for NCH / NRI / NREA emergencies
- On-site interventional neuroradiology department
- Access to senior tele-expertise
- Prioritized access based on severity to a block during duty hours

Visiting hours from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Patients requiring intensive neurosurgical care are hospitalized on this floor. Surveillance and medical and paramedical staff are reinforced. All patients operated on for cranial pathology are hospitalized here post-operatively for a variable length of time, depending on the extent of the operation performed. We also welcome patients who have not undergone surgery, but who require more careful neurosurgical monitoring.

This unit, with its strong neurosurgical focus, is under the responsibility of intensive care physicians. They work closely with the neurosurgeons. This unit welcomes patients requiring intensive monitoring, heavy care and ventilatory assistance.
