Gliomas

Gliomas are tumors that develop from cells that support neurons. They are divided into four grades. Only grade 1 can be fully treated by surgery, as it presents clear boundaries within the brain.

Grades 2, 3, and 4 are characterized by microscopic infiltration, which develops like invisible roots.

These gliomas are also divided into two categories, depending on the presence or absence of the IDH gene mutation. Tumors with an IDH mutation have a better prognosis.
