Le service de Neurochirurgie du Pr Sébastien Froelich à Lariboisière est internationalement reconnu comme leader pour la prise en charge des pathologies de la Base du Crâne.
Au 1 er décembre 2024, le Dr Bertrand Baussart, référent national en chirurgie hypophysaire, rejoint le service.
Bertrand Baussart est issu d’une prestigieuse École de Chirurgiens de l’Hypophyse (Gérard Guiot, Patrick Derome, André Visot, Stephan Gaillard). Ces neurochirurgiens se transmettent leur expertise de génération en génération, notamment pour la prise en charge des pathologies hypophysaires rares (Maladie de Cushing, Acromégalie, Prolactinome).
L’Hôpital Lariboisière s’enrichit d’une des premières filières actives de patients porteurs d’une pathologie hypophysaire en Europe (3500 patients opérés par voie endoscopique).
Au sein de l’Hôpital Lariboisière, l’équipe Neurochirurgicale interagit en étroite collaboration avec le service d’Endocrinologie (Pr Jean-François Gautier, Dr Marie Laloi). L’équipe Neurochirurgicale participe à de nombreuses Réunions de Concertation
Multidisciplinaire (RCP), coordonnées par de prestigieux services d’endocrinologie d’Ile de France (Cochin, Kremlin-Bicêtre, Pitié-Salpêtrière, Saint-Antoine, Ambroise Paré, Saint-
Joseph…). L’équipe Neurochirurgicale est également référente dans les Réunions Nationales Mensuelles « Tumeurs Hypophysaires Agressives » (HypoCARE) et « Craniopharyngiomes » (CranioCARE), coordonnées par le CHU de Lyon.
A partir du 1 er novembre 2024, le Dr Chiara Villa, neuropathologiste, rejoint également l’hôpital Lariboisière, dans le service d’anatomie et cytologie pathologiques du Pr Homa Adle-Biassette. Chiara Villa est une experte internationalement reconnue pour le diagnostic histologique des tumeurs hypophysaires. Elle participe à de nombreux groupes de travail sur
les tumeurs hypophysaires en Europe (EPPG, EuroPIT). Elle est co-autrice en 2022 du chapitre traitant de la Classification des Tumeurs Neuroendocrines, publié par l’Organisation Mondiale de la Santé (OMS). A cette expertise clinique pour la prise en charge des patients, s’ajoutent des travaux scientifiques et universitaires reconnus, se traduisant par de nombreuses présentations lors de congrès internationaux, et par la publication de nombreux articles de recherche clinique et fondamentale dans des revues scientifiques de grande qualité (haut impact factor)
